Drug rehab must be wanted by the druggie
The only problem with drug rehab is that the druggie must want to get free of their drug problem. I once worked with a woman who took a claim for disability benefits from a man in his 50s who had many different severe physical problems. Plus he'd spent a lot of time in jail. All because he was a druggie. She wasn't supposed to do this, but she asked him if he was sorry he'd gotten on drugs, since they'd taken away his health, years of his freedom and all his money (he had no income or money), and he told her no, he wasn't sorry, he'd do it all over again the same!
A lot of people who campaign against drugs forget that they do provide pleasure, and that's why people keep taking them. Yet they're not worth the possible pain if you go too far. In the late 1980s I worked as a door to door cable TV salesperson, which is a high cash business. And several times cash turned in from customers turned up missing. The company finally learned that the culprit was none other than the sales manager, who had a heavy coke habit. Chris was making around $60,000 a year at his job, which would probably be at least the equivalent of $100,000 now. I don't know if he was ever prosecuted, but it'd be lucky to get such a good job. And all for a cocaine high that's long gone.
