On custom plantation shutters

It's interesting to see how houses are different here. For one thing, there is very little concept of a lawn. Many houses fully occupy their lots, with no open space between the house and the street, or there's some space, but it's paved, sort of out doors because it's not enclosed, but not open land either. None of the houses have custom plantation shutters that I've noticed. The house across the street does have a sort of enclosed yard, with a nipa hut in the middle and some rocks inset to form a sort of walkway, and a lot of growing plants, and some grass but not a lot.
