On Raleigh accountants
So I've read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the book which is number 1 on the Kindle bestseller list and has been since forever. It's good, but to me, not THAT good. First of all, the premise is shaky. In the future a despotic government punishes outlying districts by choosing one young adolescent boy and girl from each to fight together, only one to survive. What purpose does that serve? It provides entertainment for everybody -- everybody has to watch it on TV -- but that's all. One girl manages to defeat the system. The actual trials are pretty good, though the author keeps adding dangers that we don't know of, and I didn't understand how the mutated dogs could seem like the dead players. No raleigh accountants in this book.
