different reactions to bird flu
According to this link,
bird flu panic in Europe
Europeans are plenty of frightened of bird flu.
Germans are trying to prove my last blog post
wrong -- they're not clinging to Kitty at all
costs, they're abandoning their cats in droves.
Not what I expected from pet owners!
Also, people are no longer eating chicken, which
is devastating the poultry industry.
If only it were that easy to avoid bird flu!
In Africa, however, in at least one country where
bird flu has been found in chickens, rural farmers
breaking into the areas where chickens to be culled
are kept and stealing them. According to a newspaper
article I read, they believe bird flu is a myth.
Yes, it's safe to eat the meat of bird flu infected
chickens if it is well-cooked.
The problem is, it's NOT safe to hold and butcher
the chickens!
Yes, those farmers are poor and hungry, but to
believe bird flu is a myth is a sign of stupidity.
Maybe they don't have access to the mass media --
then whoever is telling them bird flu is a myth
should be shot.
I wonder how many farmers and their children have
to die before they decide bird flu is real?
My advice -- don't over or under react. Bird flu is
real. Learn the effective ways to protect yourself and
